The Indian Ocean is calling — and Durban is ready to answer.
This year, our coastline becomes the global stage for the ICF Ocean Racing World Championships, where elite paddlers from across continents will converge in a celebration of speed, endurance, and ocean-born grit. It’s more than a race — it’s a gathering of spirit and skill for the ultimate saltwater showdown.
But beyond the podiums and finish lines, something equally powerful is unfolding.
We’re proud to spotlight Coach Linton, a cornerstone of South Africa’s paddling community and a mentor whose impact ripples far beyond the shoreline. With a coaching style rooted in precision, patience, and deep respect for the ocean, Linton brings decades of experience — and a fierce belief in every paddler’s potential.
During race week, he’ll be leading two days of focused coaching sessions at the Durban Undersea Club, offering paddlers of all levels a rare opportunity to refine their craft under his guidance.
Coach Linton has long been a consistent presence in our paddling setup. His approach is measured, his focus steady, and his experience along the KwaZulu-Natal coastline continues to shape how we prepare and perform.

Whether you’re chasing milliseconds or just learning to read the swell, these sessions are designed to sharpen your instincts, build confidence, and connect you to the rhythm of Durban’s waters. Expect drills, insights, and the kind of quiet wisdom that only comes from years spent in the surf.
Spots are limited to 10 paddlers per session.

This is Durban at its best
open-hearted, wave-wise, and ready to welcome the world.
Let’s rise to the moment. Let’s paddle strong.
